Donating to the Woodman Museum
The Woodman Museum has been collecting documents, artifacts, objects, and natural specimens since its founding in 1916. Donations from individuals, families, and collectors have helped create the museum’s distinctive character as a twentieth-century cabinet of curiosities in the twenty-first century.
Today, the museum continues to accept donations that help strengthen existing collections and support new exhibits.
How to Submit an Item for Consideration
If you have an item that you believe may be a good fit for the museum, please do not bring it to the museum without prior arrangements.
Instead, contact our Collections Manager, John Cookson, at co*********@***********um.org and include:
- A photograph of the item
- A description of the item
- Any known history, provenance, or supporting information
What Happens Next?
Our collections team will review your submission to determine whether the item fits the museum’s collection goals. If it does, we will work with you to arrange its transfer to the museum. If the item is not a suitable fit, we may be able to recommend a more appropriate institution or organization.
