Artist Interrupted – Artwork by Teresa Reid Opening Night Reception

Teresa Reid was born in 1899 in Haverhill, MA and grew up in North Andover, MA. She was trained at the Massachusetts College of Art, where her Mentor was Ernest L. Major a member of the “Boston School”. She then married and eventually became a stay at home Mother in South Berwick, ME, and put her Art on hiatus for the next 34 years. After her children were grown, she began studying again in Perkins Cove with John Laurent of UNH, she then studied in Boston and NYC. She also studied with Emile Gruppe in Gloucester, Robert Brackman in Connecticut, and Marilyn Bendell in Long Boat Key, FL. She painted Landscapes, still lives, portraits and many fishing boats. She was never sure what to charge for her paintings, so she tended to just give them away. Her paintings are known to be in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, California and New Hampshire. This exhibition is underwritten by the Reid/McLennan families. Opening night reception October 11, 2019 6pm-8pm, exhibit runs through November 17, 2019 Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.
