Join us by the new Flax and Indigo Garden on the grounds of the Woodman Museum for a special demonstration by Marion Ceres Dillon, local weaver, spinner, and clothing maker.
Using historically-informed techniques, Dillon weaves linen textiles for garments and home goods. Dillon will demonstrate the process of preparing and spinning flax fiber into linen thread and weaving that thread into linen cloth. She’ll discuss flax spinning and weaving techniques and show some of her own work with this amazing material. Demonstration will include hands-on opportunities to try each step, if time allows.
You can learn more about her work at marionceres.com and on Instagram at @marionceres.
